Free West Papua : A Pole is accused of treason and evil conspiracy in Papua at risk of imprisonment

After being delayed twice, the reading of the indictment of Polish citizens, Jakub Fabian Skrzypski (39), was finally held at the Wamena District Court (PN), Jayawijaya Regency, Papua, Monday, January 14, 2019.
In the indictment, the Public Prosecutor (JPU) led by Ricarda Arsenius ensnared Jakub and Simon Magal (Timika citizens), with a layered article namely committing criminal acts of treason and conspiracy.
In the 14-page indictment read by the Prosecutor's Team, Jakub and Simon have violated Article 106 of the Criminal Code and / or Article 110 of the Criminal Code and / or Article 111 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 53 of the Criminal Code and 55 of the Criminal Code.
Latifah Anum Siregar, Jakub's attorney said that Jakub finally came to trial after being forced by the public prosecutor. Before the trial process began, Jakub was still in his position, which was reluctant to attend the trial, but the prosecutor still took him to the Wamena District Court (PN) to undergo a trial chaired by Hakim Yajid.
Then related to the charges leading to Article 106 of the Criminal Code are the allegations against those suspected of committing treason. And article 55 of the Criminal Code is known as' penyertaan ’(deelneming), which means that in the crime, carried out jointly.
In the 14-page indictment read by the Public Prosecutor's Team, Jakub and Simon have violated Article 106 of the Criminal Code and / or Article 110 of the Criminal Code and / or Article 111 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 53 of the Criminal Code and 55 of the Criminal Code.
According to the prosecutor, at the end of 2007, Jakub first came to Papua to travel, but his purpose was misused because he "met certain people in the Free Papua Organization (OPM) to introduce and convey the issue of independent Papua to the European world in the form of journals or writings "
The prosecutor also mentioned that between Jakub and Simon often communicate through the messenger application. Jakub then returned to Papua in mid-2018.
Defendant Jakub Fabian Skrzypski went to Wamena and met with several people at the TNP OPM Puncak Jaya headquarters.
On July 15, 2018, the defendant Simon Magal asked the defendant Jakub, "can the West Papuan fighters cooperate with Poland regarding procurement of weapons?" And Jacob replied, "I know, I am trying to meet something."
The police then arrested Jakub on August 26, 2018 in Wamena. The case files are handled by the Special Task Force (Satgassus) and the Papua Regional Police General Directorate of Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum).
This Jakub case, according to Anum, is the first plot accused of being a foreign national in Papua.
Previously, police tried to impose articles on treason to two French citizens namely Thomas Dandois (40 years) and Valentine Bourrat (29 years) in 2014.
Both were working for French-German television. But in the end, both were sentenced to 2½ months for misuse of visa.
