Free West Papua : NU Santri in Papua Hold Collaboration Prayers for Central Sulawesi Disasters

Sorong, - The earthquake that struck 7.4 on the Richter scale, Friday (28/9) ravaged the land of Donggala and Palu City in Central Sulawesi Province. For this incident, the students in Emeyodere, West Papua took the initiative to send prayers to the affected residents of the earthquake in Donggala and Palu. A joint prayer was held at At-Tarbiyah Mosque in Kladufu Village, Sorong City after the evening prayer, Saturday (9/29) night.

"Upon hearing the news, we immediately initiated ourselves, formed a circle, opened the Al-Qur'anul Karim," said Siti Nur Syamsiyah on Sunday (9/30) morning.

With solemnness, continued Siti, they offered prayers together for the safety and peace of mind in the brothers in Central Sulawesi and West Sulawesi.

The girl who was in West Papua in teaching assignments because of participating in the 3T Regional Development program, said the students also sent Al-Fatihah gifts specifically for the victims who died, as well as joint prayers for the stability of nature in Central Sulawesi and West Sulawesi after the earthquake.

Siti said there were 24 people who joined the prayer that night.

The Chairman of LPBI NU, M Ali Yusuf said through NU Peduli, PBNU was sending volunteers to Palu. Departments are held on Saturday (29/9). A team of six people will be tasked with conducting health assessments and services.

"This afternoon Sunday (30/9), the Team through the Makassar route via land to Palu, takes about 12 hours," he said.
