Free West Papua : Papua Expedition Team Bright Successfully Survey 292 Villages in Papua

Around 292 villages scattered in Papua and West Papua were successfully surveyed by the Bright Papua Expedition team of PLN. The survey, which began on July 28, is planned to survey around 415 villages in 5 posts, namely Jayapura, Timika, Merauke, Wamena and Nabire for two months.

Maluku Regional Business Director and Papua PLN Ahmad Rofik greatly appreciated the efforts of the Bright Papua Expedition team who were passionate about carrying out the task of accelerating electricity in Papua.

"Only a week after arriving in Papua, the team surveyed more than 50 percent of the targeted villages. This is also thanks to the help of digital maps from LAPAN. The number of villages continues to grow in accordance with conditions in the field. Given that there are also villages that are experiencing expansion, "Ahmad Rofik said.

For example, to reach one of the villages in Lanny Jaya Regency, the Expedition Team consisting of Students, Companion PLN Staff, Army Members, and representatives of local government, had to travel by road about 4 hours from Wamena Command Post to the Capital City of Tiom.

Some roads are wet lands that are difficult for motorized vehicles to pass. Furthermore, the journey from Tiom to the villages can only be reached on foot because they have to go through paths, mountain and river paths.

After 3 hours the team arrived in one village in Wiringgambut sub-district which has a population of around 350 people. "We are trying to get this survey to obtain accurate data so that it can accelerate the development of the electricity infrastructure of the community there. We also prioritize the health and safety of the entire team, we continue to monitor all activities, "said Ahmad Rofik.

ITB student Hamzah Imanul Haq who is a participant in the Bright Papua Expedition from the Wamena Command Post said that during the survey the pesetas also learned about community life in Papua.

He also mentioned that the whole team worked together and helped each other. This article has been published on bangkapos.com with the title Sepekan in Papua, the Bright Papua Expedition Team Successfully Surveying 292 Villages in Papua, "The mountainous community of Wamena is friendly and open so the survey works well. We also prepared all the equipment and living expenses so that our focus can be directed well for this expedition, "said Hamzah.

In addition to demographic conditions, the team also surveyed village coordinates and the potential for renewable energy in the village. Like the potential of hydro power from rivers and solar energy. The results of this survey will be reprocessed until the end of September into design drawings and details of material requirements for each village electricity system to be built.
