Free West Papua : Pastor and Youth Church in Papua Keep the Mosque During Eid Salat

Dozens of youths from the Catholic Church who are members of the Catholic Young People organization (OMK) from Parish Church of Penebus Sentani, Jayapura District, Papua, helped police to secure the Eid al-Fitr prayer that took place at Masjid Al Aqsa, Sentani, Jayapura District, Friday (15 / 6/2018).
The Catholic youths were busy organizing vehicles in and out of the mosque. Not only youth, visible Pastor Parish Sang Penebus Sentani, Hendrikus Nahak, OFM involved directly securing the path of Id prayer at Al Aqsa Mosque, Sentani.
After joining the youth of his church to help the security apparatus, Father Hendrikus Nahak, OFM, said that religious harmony must flow from a sincere heart.

Hendrik said it has established cooperation in fostering harmony over the past four years.
"It really expresses the diversity of people, both Catholics and Muslims in respect and respect for each other," he said.
Moreover, he said, the Government of Jayapura Regency has launched the Integrity Zone, so it has become a strong foundation for the religious people of Jayapura Regency to build diversity, especially to foster mutual harmony.
"We want to maintain and improve the quality in terms of building harmony, not just symbolic but really we want to show that we in diversity create a quality tolerance of life," he said.
He appealed to Catholics to be pillars in building peace in common harmony.
"Of course, to build harmony requires mutual respect as the foundation of our lives, and has been realized with friends in Al Aqsa Mosque," he said.
Father Hendrik also appreciated the Jayapura district government for trying to build common harmony in the district.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Al Aqsa Masjid Taklim Masjid Nurdin Sanmas expressed his gratitude to the entire community of Jayapura District who participate in maintaining the security of Al Aqsa Grand Mosque in the implementation of Ramadan until the feast of Eid al-Fitr.
"Actually in my speech many things I want to say but I am touched to see the priest who went down directly lead the youth of the church in maintaining the security of Eid," he said.
Nurdin claimed to have been a joint commitment to always maintain harmony among religious believers in Jayapura District.
"This can not be separated from the guidance of Jayapura district government," he said.
Not only to maintain security, he said, but also provide parking space in the church yard or mosque yard during Lebaran.
"It is our commitment and extraordinary what the pastors do today hopefully can be imitated by other religious communities in Jayapura District," added Nurdin
