Free West Papua : PLN together with Mapala Expand Electrical System in Maluku and Papua

Reported from TajukTimur, PT PLN (Persero) involves a student activity unit of Natural Lovers Students (Mapala) of several universities to expand electricity in eastern Indonesia. 

Director of Regional Business of PLN Maluku Papua, Ahmad Rofik has invited Mapala University Indonesia (UI), Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Institute of Technology Sepuluh November (ITS) Surabaya, and Cendrawasih University and TNI to melistriki region 3 T (backward, outermost, and leading) in Maluku, North Maluku, Papua and West Papua. 

"In order to eletrifikasi our village in cooperation with Mapala UGM, UI, ITB, then ITS and Uncen," said Rofik, in Jakarta, Wednesday, May 23, 2018. 

Rofik admits that he is often faced with a heavy field to generate electricity in the area.Therefore PLN invites the young and vibrant Mapala to help the electricity distribution in the eastern part of Indonesia. 

Mapala will be invited to map the construction of power plants sourced from energy potential in each region. 

"Utilizing local resources, we use it because we have limited human resources to identify it. Is there a river or not, the last choice of diesel, "he explained. 

Regarding the cooperation with Mapala, Rofik continued already listed in the memorandum of understanding (Memorandum of Understanding / MoU) which was signed between PLN and some universities some time ago. PLN has started to shout for this cooperation. 

"Discussion of coordination we have started MOU this year," he concluded.
