Jokowi gives the Land Certificate and visits the Holtekam Bridge

Reported from, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo arrived at Sentani Airport, Jayapura Regency using Presidential plane on Thursday morning, April 12, 2018. The President and entourage went directly to the Field of Regent of Jayapura, where the implementation of the certificate of rights to the land for the people.
Along the way, the community, especially the students enthusiastically welcomed the arrival of President Jokowi and Ibu Iriana. Seeing the enthusiasm is so high, President and Mrs. Iriana did not hesitate to say hello and share books and T-shirts to the public.
This visit to Jayapura is the eighth visit of President Jokowi since he was sworn in as President. Before leaving for Timika, it is scheduled to conduct a review of the Holtekam Bridge linking Holtekam-Hamadi and ensure handling after the outbreaks of measles and malnutrition in Asmat, Papua on 11-13 April 2018.
President Jokowi hopes that the construction project of Holtekam bridge, Jayapura City, Papua, which he wants will soon be able to function and affect the economic growth around the area.
"We expect that by the end of this year, the stretch of 732 meters long bridge and 7,800 meters road will be the longest bridge," he said in Jayapura on Thursday.
"What we expect (Holtekam Bridge) to grow new economic points in Jayapura and surrounding areas because this will shorten the distance from the city of Jayapura to Skouw which is usually taken 2.5 hours and with this bridge to an hour," he continued.
The President in the review was accompanied by Mrs. Iriana Joko Widodo, Minister of Public Works Basuki Hadimuljono, Health Minister Nila Moeloek, Acting Governor of Papua Soedarmo, Mayor of Jayapura, Benhur Tommy Mano, Head of National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN) X Papua Osman Marbun, .
He stressed the existence of the Holtekam bridge should also have an impact on the surrounding population.
"We also hope the area around this bridge will be a beautiful tourist place, beautiful and nice that can bring tourists," he said.
The President said Holtekam Bridge was designed by Indonesian architects and the work was done jointly by several state-owned companies.
In addition, the first stone-laying development project was carried out by President Joko Widodo on May 9, 2015, financed jointly between the central government, the Papua Provincial Government and Jayapura City Government with a total budget of Rp1.7 trillion.
