For example, airplanes to operate in Papua are mountainous areas, many steep hills and ravines.Director General of Air Transportation, Agus Santoso, said the aircraft suitable for natural conditions in Papua is a plane capable of airing and landing on a short runway. In addition, PTDI is encouraged to make aircraft that have low stall speed, so it can fly slowly and maneuver well on the sidelines of mountain cliffs in Papua.

"The N219 aircraft currently manufactured by PTDI is a suitable aircraft for that matter, so we will be guarding the certification process so that the aircraft will become reliable and mass-produced," he said in his statement on Wednesday (10/1/2018).

"With good certification from the world recognized aviation authorities, the N219 aircraft will also be marketed to countries that need and have natural conditions such as Papua," he continued.According to Agus, in addition to these two classifications, which is no less important is a more advanced navigation equipment.

He added that this request was made by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation as to strengthen the airline operators in Indonesia in serving the more sustainable accessibility of Papua."As a regulator, we are familiar with 3 A operators such as Airport, Airlines and Air Navigations. In Indonesia, now plus A one is the aircraft manufacturer. Therefore we will also help, supervise and build this aircraft manufacturer in order to grow and contribute more much for the nation and state, "he explained.

Currently Kemenhub will also provide technical support for certification acceleration to PT Dirgantara Indonesia (DI) as the only aircraft manufacturer in the country and in ASEAN. It is thus able to produce and market its products more progressively in the international market.Technical impetus to be provided for example is technical assistance of design certification, type, to product according to international flight rules (Annexes ICAO) and national CASR and assist in marketing to friendly countries Indonesia through Bilateral Airworthines Recognition or Bilateral Airworthiness Agreement.
