This tourist village is not very wide in terms of size. The land
only covers an area of 7 Ha, so it does not take much time and
energy to be able to get around in this village. There are about
40 families living in the village of Arborek. If we live in this village,
we can already make the village our holiday destination just by
walking.

For snorkeling, we do not have to travel far because we
can find an interesting underwater world even at Arborek harbor.
Walking along the village footpath will provide an opportunity that
we do not want to miss out, as residents and especially children
will welcome us warmly and invite you. For diving, it only takes
about 15-20 minutes by motor boat to arrive at the dive site.

The village of Arborek emerged and thrived as a pioneer
among the 18 other beautiful villages in West Papua that have
started the development of a Local Regulation for communitybased
marine conservation. This village occupied first place in the
Village Competition in West Papua Province in 2015.
The village of Arborek has gained a remarkable reputation, both within the local government and the international community.

With the help of the central and local government, research
centers, non-governmental organizations, and local communities
have successfully formulated a Regional Regulation.
With a population of just 197 people, interaction with the
locals is a stepping stone for the numerous homestay options
available on the island. It is not so difficult to find the underwater
beauty of this village. Along the docks of Arborek, divers can jump
into the water and instantly find the most interesting illumination of
gorgonian radiance just below the surface.

The inhabitants of Arborek are very friendly and diligent.
They create outstanding handicrafts from the pandanus leaves of
the sea to utilize their spare time every day. Arborek does have
very interesting things both under the water and in the village.
The inhabitants of Arborek Tourism Village are famous
for their craft in making hats and noken (rope bags). Unlike
most women in other villages who also help their husbands as
fishermen, almost all mothers in this village produce handicrafts
to earn a living. Although they believe that catching lobsters and
working in agro-pearl production is much more profitable, yet they
feel that crafts are more honorable and more graceful for women.
Arborek Tourist Village is a village worth visiting; its location
is only one and a half hours from Waisai, the capital of Raja
Ampat. This village is waiting for tourist visits from all over the
world.
