PLTMG MPP Jayapura 50 MW Mulai Tahapan Sinkronisasi 

JAKARTA - The 50 megawatt (MW) PLN Power Plant Power Plant (PTLMG MPP) built by PLN Papua Province in Holtekam-Jayapura City began to enter the synchronization stage.
"Today we are doing first synchron of Holtekamp PLTMG after it has been built for nine months," said Business Director of PT PLN Regional Maluku Papua Ahmad Rofik in a press statement on Friday (27/10/2017).
PLTMG Holtekamp is part of a 35,000 MW power plant program throughout Indonesia. In accordance with the PLN Regional Maluku and Papua program, the bright Papua in 2020, in which the electrification ratio especially in Papua is expected to be above 85.96%, the development of electricity infrastructure continues.
"We expect all the villages, districts (districts) and districts in Papua are already powered by 2020," he said.
To meet these needs, said Ahmad Rofik, in the region of Papua has built several PLTMG. The plant will operate in 2017 of 70 MW, in Jayapura 50 MW and Nabire 20 MW. Then, 2018 by 205 MW in Papua Province, Merauke 40 MW, Biak 15 MW, Serui 10 MW, Timika 10 MW, and West Papua, Manokwari 20 MW, Raja Ampat 10 MW, Sorong 30 MW, Fakfak 10 MW, Jayapura Peaker 40 MW, and Kaimana 10 MW. In 2019, a total capacity of 120 MW of power plants will be built in several areas in Papua.
"The construction of this power plant also supports the plan of organizing PON XX in Papua including in some districts that have venues PON 2020," he added.
General Manager of PLN of Papua Development Masterpiece Unit Henrison A Lumbanraja said synchronization of PLPMG MPP Jayapura is a prize at the 72nd National Electric Day event for Papua. "In the near future ie on the 2nd week of November 2017, Nabire PLTMG with a capacity of 20 MW will also be operated," said Henrison.
Currently, Jayapura's power reaches 83 MW and with an additional entry of 50 MW, the electricity available in the Jayapura system reaches 133 MW. PLN hopes that with the increase in electricity supply, blackout due to the deficit in the balance of power can be minimized, as well as opening opportunities for investors to enter Jayapura.
